DEAR SUN SPOTS: Pathways is a nonprofit agency that provides a number of services for individuals with disabilities. Due to a limited budget, we rely on the donations of community members for a lot of our projects. Please take a look around and see if you have any of our wish list items in your home that are not being used.
Some of these items are cotton cloth, beads for jewelry-making, paints for indoor walls as well as washable paints for artwork and any magazines. Other art supplies are always welcome as well.
Please call me to make arrangements or drop off items at Pathways, 589 Minot Ave., Auburn, during business hours Monday through Friday. — Stephanie Bell, stephanieb@pathwaysmaine.com, 207-795-4085, ext. 2324
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a lot of sewing supplies to give away to anyone or any organization that’s interested. Included are many patterns, threads, bindings, seam tape, etc., as well as a large amount of material in good condition. Also, for any knitters, there are many older pattern books. If interested, please contact me. — ggagnon186@gmail.com
ANSWER: Sun Spots thinks your in box will be crammed full of requests for the items you have so generously offered.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Every Day Basic Essential Pantry, a ministry of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, is having a quilters and crafters garage sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, in the church’s parish hall, 9 Summer St. in Augusta.
We are looking for crafters and quilters interested in renting tables for this event. Setup will be from 7 to 9 a.m. that Saturday.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tables may be rented at $25 for the day. Splitting the cost of a table rental with someone else is perfectly fine.
Advertising for this event will appear in all major newspapers in Maine and through the various craft and quilters guilds and associations.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In your Feb. 20 column, you asked if there were any other individuals or businesses in the area that would be willing to do repairs for seniors. Please include Champagne Construction of Auburn in your list of resources.
We do repairs/remodels of all kinds and are fully insured. — Janine Champagne, office manager, champbros@yahoo.com, 207-782-3667
ANSWER: Sun Spots had the impression that the Feb. 20 request was for more chore-like work, such as snow shoveling, but surely some seniors need repairs involving wood as well and will welcome this information.
Sun Spots is surprised that there aren’t more people marketing themselves as handymen (or women). With the aging of the baby boomers, there is going to be more and more need for help with tasks such as lawn care, heavy cleaning, repairs, etc.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I would like to add to your list of people who will do odd jobs and more.
ASE of Maine Property Management, owned by Bertrand St.Amand of Auburn, will do odd jobs and more.
He also does some home repairs inside and out. Will clean out homes, attics, garages, etc. He gives discounts to senior citizens and veterans.
Please call him at 207-783-6431, and he will let you know if he can do whatever you have in mind.
Thank you. — Sandra Greaton, sgreaton@roadrunner.com
