1930 – 2014

AUBURN — Dorothy D. Wright, 84, a resident of Great Falls Plaza in Auburn and a former resident of Sabattus, passed away Sunday, March 2, at Clover Manor Nursing Home.

She was born in Litchfield on Feb. 8, 1930, the daughter of Chester and Cecila Wentzel Danforth. She attended Litchfield schools and graduated from Litchfield Academy. On Aug. 20, 1948, Dorothy and Albion A. Wright were married in Minot; Albion passed away in 1979. Dorothy worked at Webster Rubber and Heal and then for B.B. Rubber and Heal in Sabattus.

She enjoyed camping and dancing, and loved company, especially if it was her son or grandchildren coming to visit. Dorothy was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Sabattus Post No. 135; Order of the Eastern Star, Sabattus; and was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Sabattus.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Albion J. and Janice Wright of Sabattus; four grandchildren and their spouses, Angela and Daniel Roy of Monmouth, Amy and Aaron Chase of Wales, Aaron and Corina Wright of Sabattus and Adam and Pamela Wright of Greene; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annie Getchell and Virginia Porter, both of Litchfield; four sisters-in-law, Rowena Wright of Sabattus, Vada Wright of Lewiston, Shirley Duquette of Sabattus and Pauline Danforth of Auburn; and a brother-in-law, Donald Vannah, of Litchfield.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Albion; two sisters, Rowena Ridley and Louise Vannah; two brothers, Clarence and Chester Danforth; and her companion, Napolian “Nappy” Begin.
