1936 – 2014

AUGUSTA — Lucienne A. Chesley, 77, of Sixth Avenue, died Saturday, March 8, at MaineGeneral Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born in Jay, on Aug. 8, 1936, the daughter of Antoine Marceau and Antoinette (Belanger) Marceau. She was raised by her father and stepmother, Delia (Morin) Marceau.

Lucienne was a 1956 graduate of Jay High School.

She was a homemaker in her own home for most of her life. She raised a family of six sons. Lucienne was a member of St. Michael Parish at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.

Surviving are five sons, James Chesley of Augusta, Christopher Chesley of Vassalboro, Patrick Chesley and his wife, Paula, of Pittston, Daniel Chesley and his companion, Lisa Couture, of West Gardiner and Timothy Chesley of Nottingham, N.H.; a daughter-in-law, Yun Jung Chesley of California; two sisters, Therese Marceau of Canada and Pauline Ashcroft of Winthrop; seven grandchildren, Diana Sena Lee, Nancy Chesley, Benjamin Chesley, Mitchell Chesley, Brittany Chesley, Amber Chesley and Alex Chesley; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Lee and Victoria Lee; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Glendon P. Chesley, predeceased her on June 7, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Chesley on April 26, 2008; by her father; her mother; her stepmother; and two sisters, Alice Marceau and Rose Couturier.
