BALTIMORE, Md. — Emily M. Pakulski, formerly of Mechanic Falls, has received her Bachelor of Arts from Goucher College in May of 2013 majoring in communications with a concentration in studio art, with a final GPA of 3.45.

Emily is a 2009 graduate of Poland Regional High School, and has recently moved to New York City to start employment at the ad agency Deutsch, Inc., working as an assistant media buyer.

Emily is the daughter of Scott Pakulski and Jeanette Plumer, and granddaughter of Dora Pakulski of Jay.

BIDDEFORD — Matthew Chouinard, son of Chris and Pauline Chouinard of Lewiston, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2013 fall semester at the University of New England.

Dean’s list students have attained a grade point average of 3.30 or better out of a possible 4.0 at the end of the semester.

A 2012 graduate of Lewiston High School, Chouinard is a major in athletic training. He is also actively involved at the university in club volleyball.

BIDDEFORD — Kathleen Delehanty Labbe, daughter of Phillip and Doreen Labbe of Biddeford, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2013 fall semester at the University of New England.

A 2010 graduate of Biddeford High School, Labbe is a major in political science with a minor in women and gender studies. She is also actively involved at the university as editor of the UNE publication Zephyr, editor of Nor’easter News and a member of the History Club.

BIDDEFORD — Paxton Arsenault, daughter of Michael and Terri Arsenault of Mechanic Falls, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2013 fall semester at the University of New England.

A 2013 graduate of Poland Regional High School, Arsenault is a major in occupational therapy. She is also actively involved at the university in the Pre-OT Club.

BIDDEFORD — Katherine Sawyer, daughter of Richard and Brenda Sawyer of Minot, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2013 fall semester at the University of New England.

A 2013 Edward Little High School, Sawyer is a major in athletic training with a minor in psychology. She is also actively involved at the university in women’s basketball, Athletic Training Club and International Club.

BIDDEFORD — Kirstin Ridge, daughter of Jim and Bobbi-Ann Ridge of Rumford, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2013 fall semester at the University of New England.

A 2012 graduate of Mountain Valley High School, Ridge is a major in nursing. She is also actively involved at the university in the Dance Team.

BURLINGTON, Vt. — Sam Armstrong, a graduate of Edward Little High School, graduated from the University of Vermont in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and statistics.

He currently resides in Brighton, Mass., and works for LogMeIn, Inc., a Boston-based software support company.

He is the son of Andrea Eusden and Charlie Armstrong of Auburn.

MEDFORD, Mass. — Ben Armstrong, a graduate of Edward Little High School, was placed on the dean’s list for the fall 2013 term at Tufts University School of Engineering.

He is a junior studying mechanical engineering and will be working for Sensata Technologies, a sensors and controls company in Attleboro, Mass., in May 2014.

He is the son of Andrea Eusden and Charlie Armstrong of Auburn.

CINCINNATI — Ramser Benjamin of Turner is among the students who achieved dean’s list recognition for fall 2013-14 at University of Cincinnati.

STANDISH — In January during winter break, a group of students and faculty completed a week-long service trip to Haiti as part of Saint Joseph’s College of Maine’s International Service Trips, in conjunction with Partners in Development of Ipswich, Mass.

In Haiti, a team of faculty and staff members and 16 students spent the week working on the foundations of two houses in Blanchard and Canaan, just outside Port-au-Prince, regions especially hard hit by the 2010 earthquake, and nursing students assisted doctors and nurses with hundreds of patients in a health clinic.
