JAY — Police are investigating a forced entry into the Otis Falls Mill on Mill Street that was reported late Sunday.

A representative at the mill reported the burglary at 10:07 p.m., Detective Richard Caton IV said.

Officer Michael Mejia responded to the mill complex owned by Otis Ventures LLC. The mill was formerly a paper mill before it closed in 2009. The complex is home to several businesses, including a restaurant.

It appears a person forcefully entered the mill through a door, Caton said.

It is unknown at this time if anything was stolen, he said.

The person walked out behind the mill and possibly tampered with some railroad equipment, he said. The railroad tracks run past the mill, located near the Livermore Falls line.

“We have some possible suspects,” Caton said.
