1932 – 2014

EAST POLAND — Nancy Ann Duchette, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 14.

She was born on Nov. 12, 1932, the daughter of Lawrence and Lucy Merrill Ward. She graduated from Edward Little High School in the Class of 1950. She married Carl Duchette on Dec. 31, 1950. She worked many years at Gould & Scammon, Hamilton & Son and at Black Bear Builders with her sons before retirement.

She had a wonderful sense of humor, right up to the end, she kept her family laughing. She loved hunting, fishing, braiding rugs, preserving canned goods for Christmas — her favorite time of the year — and shopping with her cousin, Mary. She especially loved spending time at her camp in Stoneham. She was a very giving spirit and loved sending gifts to Hope Haven in Lewiston. Her biggest passion in life was her family.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Carl, of East Poland; her children, Larry Duchette and his wife, Connie, of Portage Lake, Carl Duchette and his wife, Cheryl, of East Poland, and Lori Pelletier and her husband, Dan, of East Poland; her sister, Helen Dehahn of Paris Hill; and grandchildren, Jonathan Duchette and wife, Lauren, Whitney Pelletier, Daniel Pelletier, Rebecca Duchette and Ian Duchette.

Nancy was predeceased by a son, Michael; her parents; and a brother, John Ward.

The family wishes to thank everyone at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, especially Chrystal, Nicole, Michelle and Molly.
