1931 – 2014

AUBURN — Fernande C. Parise, 82, passed away on Friday, March 14, at the Hospice House, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 20, 1931, the daughter of Olier and Imelda Bachand. She married Albert Parise in 1959. She was educated in local schools, worked in local shoe shops in her early years and then went on to start her own child care business. She took care of more than 45 children over many years and was loved by all the children and their parents, many of whom still communicated with her.

A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she was a devout Catholic who prayed the Rosary daily. She found tremendous joy in gathering with her family for all occasions, and celebrated all the holidays and marked events with them. She loved to laugh and was a high-spirited person. She resided at Clover Manor and also made many dear friends there.

She will be sadly missed by her sister, Jeannette Gendreau and husband, Willie; and many nieces and nephews who knew and loved her as MaTante Fern.

She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Everett Bachand, Fern Bachand and Lucien Bachand; and one sister, Laurette Gauthier.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sanal, who took such great care of her, along with her staff and all the people at Clover Manor who assisted with her care.
