LEWISTON — A funeral Mass honoring the life of Monita A. Buteau was celebrated on Monday, March 17, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, following prayers at Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home.

The Rev. Marc Caron celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. During the Mass, the first reading was by Monita’s nephew, Marc Moreau, and the Prayer of the Faithful was read by her goddaughter, Diane Moreau. The offertory was brought to the altar by her grandson, Brian Buteau, and her great-granddaughter, Allyssa Buteau. Words of remembrance were expressed by Monita’s grandson, Michael Dumas.

A reception of fellowship was held at Chick-A-Dee Restaurant, following committal prayers at the cemetery.
