Coach: McKell Barnes (first year)

Last year’s record: 9-17

Players to watch: Senior — Alayna Garbarino 3b; Juniors — Kelsey Freedman P, Brenna Callahan P, Molly Brown cf, Maddie Inlow c/ss, Kira Shaikh utl; Sophomores — Melissa Paione c, Mary Deneen 1b, Alex Eliopoulos 2b, Karen Lockhart ss/of, Marina Barsoum utl, Anna Berenson utl; Freshman — Abby Abbott utl.

Overview: The Bobcats are young but have a handful of seniors that will lead the way. Freedman and Callahan are veterans on the mound and should give Bates some experience there. Freedman had 11 starters and had a 3.77 ERA while Callahan pitched 41 innings with a 4.44 ERA. Bates might have some growing pains early but progress is the plan. The hope is that the Bobcats will become consistently competitive in the NESCAC.
