LIVERMORE FALLS — The RSU 73 board expelled one Spruce Mountain High School boy and suspended another following nearly four hours in closed sessions Monday night.

The board held separate hearings with the boys and their parents.

The expelled student had threatened violence against a teacher on March 24 and was immediately suspended, Superintendent Robert Wall said. Before the boy can return to the school, he must develop a re-entry plan with Principal T.J. Plourde and Wall. It is likely he will not return before the end of the year, he said.

Wall said the boy will be tutored during his expulsion. A part of the re-entry plan might include counseling.

A second high school boy was suspended March 18 for coming to school under the influence of marijuana. The board voted to allow him to return to classes April 15. While he was suspended, he was tutored.
