BURBANK — Funeral services for Jean Burbank of Berwick, formerly of Wilton, were held Saturday afternoon, April 5, at 2 p.m. at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 136 High St., Wilton, with Rhonda Wiles-Rosell officiating.

The service began with her favorite hymn, “How Great Thou Art” (Elvis rendition). Granddaughters Cindy Pomerleau Pattershall and Lisa Pomerleau offered personal reflections and great-grandson, Dustin Lindsey, played the guitar and sang, “Just Beyond the Moon,” a favorite of Jean’s by Tex Ritter. Psalm 139 and the contemporary English version of Psalm 23 were recited. The service concluded with her message to her family and friends, Leanne Womack’s “I Hope You Dance.”

Honorary pallbearers were Paula Pomeroy Lindsey, Andrew Pomeroy, Gloria Burbank Moulton, Bruce Burbank, Lisa Pomerleau, Cynthia Pomerleau Pattershall, Jeremy Rose and Michael Pomerleau. Many in attendance offered personal “Jean stories” and wore shades of her favorite color, purple, as an expression of their love and respect.

Following services, all were welcomed at the Center for a time of light refreshments and continued memory sharing. Winter entombment is at the funeral home. Spring burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Wilton.
