WILTON — A Weld woman was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital on Wednesday after a vehicle hit the motorcycle she was riding on at the intersection of routes 2 and 4 and Route 156.

Christie Paine, 54, complained of lower back pain, Wilton police officer Andrew Hardy said.

Her husband, Robert Paine, 55, was driving the 2003 Honda but was not injured.

Paine turned on to Route 156 by Gould’s gas station and stopped to make a left turn in to Dutch Treat, Hardy said about the 5 p.m. accident.

David Rossler, 27, of Mt. Vernon was driving a 2010 Mazda and also made a turn on to Route 156. He was watching to see where another motorcycle was going. He didn’t see Paine’s stopped motorcycle and struck it from behind at a low rate of speed, Hardy said.

Both vehicles received minor damage and were driven from the scene.

Members of Wilton Fire Department and NorthStar Ambulance responded to the accident.
