LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial for Bob Morissette was celebrated on Saturday, May 10, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, with the Rev. Aaron Damboise officiating, with the assistance of deacon Irenee Richard.

The scripture was read by one of Bob’s daughters, Rachel Weymouth, and the Prayer of the Faithful was read by three of Bob’s granddaughters, Grace Girardin, Jane and Lily Weymouth. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by two grandchildren, Noah Girardin and Jacques Morissette, and the Eulogy was given by Bob’s youngest daughter, Jenny Meyer. Pamela Vallaincourt sang songs chosen by the family for the Mass.

Committal services were held at St. Peter’s Cemetery, with deacon Irenee Richard officiating. Military honors for Bob’s service to his country were provided by soldiers from Camp Keyes in Augusta. Bob’s wife, Pauline, their seven children and 15 grandchildren all placed roses on his casket at the end of the ceremony. Bearers were Bob’s six children, Rachel Weymouth, Claire Morissette Girardin, Brenda Joly, Nicole Benoit, Paul Emile Morissette and Jenny Meyer.
