1930 – 2014

AUBURN — Theresa A. Doucette, 83, of Auburn, died Sunday evening, May 11, at the Androscoggin Hospice House following a long illness.

She was born in Auburn on Sept. 29, 1930, a daughter of the late Donat and Cecilia (Dichard) Rousseau, and had been a resident of this community all of her life. She was educated in Auburn schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1948.

Theresa was employed at various clothing establishments, including Youth Center, Youth Fashions and later at Ward Bros. She then went to work at Bates College, until her retirement.

She was a gifted seamstress. She enjoyed doing crafts and gardening, and she loved to go shopping. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Laurent A. Doucette, whom she married on Oct. 2, 1948, of Lewiston; two daughters, Carol Langelier and her husband, George, of Lewiston and Lucille Langelier and her husband, Robert, of Lewiston; three sons, Ronald Doucette and his wife, Arlene, of Hebron, Michael Doucette and his wife, Connie, of Bradenton, Fla., and Daniel Doucette and his wife, Lysanne, of Lewiston; one sister, Anita Malia, of Poland; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a great-grandson, Parker Doucette; and a sister, Lucille Rousseau.
