1944 – 2014

AUBURN — Jeffrey E. Pride, 70, a resident of 94 Broadview Ave., died peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 14.

He was born in Brunswick on March 12, 1944, a son of Harold and Bertha (Wilson) Pride. He was a longtime resident of the Auburn area and worked as a hand-sewer for many years in the local shoe industry, until his retirement.

Jeffrey enjoyed fishing and taking rides with his son, Jeff. He also enjoyed watching baseball, football and hockey, and going to the Oxford Casino. He was always buying scratch or Powerball tickets at the corner store, hoping for that “big win.”

He is survived by his two sons, Jeff Libby and his girlfriend, Kim Jipson, and Alex Merchant; his two daughters, Tammy Cavers and her husband, William, and Ernestine Merchant; his former wife, Linda McPartland; his brother, Mike Pride and his wife, Terry; his two sisters, Bonnie Pride and her companion, Tammy Morrison, and Edie Terenzoni and her husband, Ted; his sister-in-law, Maxine Pride; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, David Pride; a sister, Elaine Pride; and a nephew, Darrin Pride.
