LIVERMORE FALLS — A Drive 4 UR Community event will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, in the gazebo area to benefit the Elaine Smith Children’s Reading Program at Treat Memorial Library.

The event coincides with the Livermore Falls History Night and Cruise-In in downtown Livermore Falls. The Drive 4 UR Community event starts one hour earlier than History Night.

Any person with a valid driver’s license and who is 18 or older can sign up to test-drive a vehicle, said Brenda Brochu, owner of Bailey Brothers Ford and a library trustee.

It is free for the person driving and takes 15 minutes of time. Only one driver is allowed per address, she said.

Ford and Bailey Brothers will donate $20 per test drive to the reading program.

Elaine Smith was the former library director. She died of cancer in February.

There will be some giveaways, including free books.
