Hardy, Wolf and Downing 6, Austin Associates 4
Hardy, Wolf and Downing held off a stubborn Austin Associates team, capturing its first win of the season, 6-4, in an Auburn Suburban Little League game.
Bobby Tremaine (five strikeouts) and Joel Stubbs (seven strikeouts) held Austin to only two hits in the game. Noah Harkins and Tremaine led HWD offensively with two hits apiece, while Chase Martin and Jake Jackson paced Austin with a hit each.
Austin Associates 10, Gifford’s Ice Cream 6
An Auburn Suburban Little League game was tied 4-4 entering the fifth when Austin exploded with six runs scored by Jason Brooker, Chase Martin, Hunter Fisher, Nick Hartley, Jake Arel and Drew Bennett.
Giffords took the lead 2-1 in the first. Dominic Priola and Rickey Cote added two more runs for Gifford’s, but it was not enough to tip the scale.
