Rumford Area Quilters end season
RUMFORD — Rumford Area Quilters will meet for the last time this season at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street.
A trunk show on “The History of Aprons” will be given by Dottie and Norma, special guests. Attendees are invited to wear or bring a vintage apron.
Ice cream sundaes will be served following the presentation. Please bring $4 to cover all costs.

Book events with author, artist
RUMFORD — An art opening and book signing by “Sage of the Anasazi” author Timothy A. Buzzard will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 13, at the Pennacook Art Center, River Valley Technical Center, 60 Lowell St.
The book’s cover was painted by Chris Wing, who will also be there.
A gift certificate to Brian’s Bistro will be given as a door prize. You must be present to win.
The exhibit will be available for viewing from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturdays.
The Pennacook Art Center features paintings, drawings, weavings and photographs by local art professionals.
Lawn sale at ‘Green Church’
MEXICO — A lawn sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Mexico Congregational Church, United Church of Christ (the “Green Church”), 163 Main St.
The sale includes clothing, kitchen and household goods, games, toys, books and more. The Women’s Fellowship of the church will have a baked goods sale in the conference room at the same time.
Free resource fair for seniors
MEXICO — In recognition of Elder Abuse Awareness Day, the Oxford County Elder Abuse Taskforce will hold a Free Senior Resource Fair from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at the Oxford Federal Credit Union, 225 River Road.
The event will include giveaways, snacks and resource tables, as well as speakers including law enforcement, attorneys and credit union staff to educate seniors.

TURNER — Members of the Stephens High School Class of 1949 will meet for their regular monthly luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Captain Bly’s on Route 117, the Turner-Buckfield line (starting across from the small Turner plaza).
