MEXICO — The Police Department responded to 52 incidents over the past six days, including the following:
* Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said officers have received a “very high” number of complaints about people riding ATVs “full blast” down Roxbury Road and through people’s private property without asking permission.
“We’re setting up special details to monitor the situation,” he said. “Summonses will be issued for anybody caught using that road.”
* A Highland Terrace resident reported at 7 p.m. June 10 that she witnessed three juveniles with baseball bats knocking over her political signs. Hodsdon said police have no suspects, and remind people that destruction of political signs is considered criminal mischief.
* An employee of the Family Dollar store on Main Street reported at 7:30 p.m. June 10 that someone shot out their front window with what appeared to be a pellet gun. Hodsdon estimated damage at between $500 and $600. Police have no suspects.
* A resident reported at 5:27 p.m. that someone shot holes in the windshield of their Ford Mustang parked near the Region 9 School of Applied Technology. Hodsdon said the incident likely is connected to the damaged window at the Family Dollar.
