DEAR SUN SPOTS: On June 7 someone asked about meal vouchers available in Livermore.

SeniorsPlus offers seniors 60 and over the opportunity to purchase meal vouchers for restaurants participating in our Around Town Café program in Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties.

Vouchers can be purchased at our offices in Livermore and Lewiston for a requested donation of $5 each. Name, address and date of birth are required on the vouchers to make them valid.

A list of the participating restaurants can be found at our website, www.seniorsplus.org. Thank you. — David Moyer, nutrition manager, dmoyer@seniorsplus.org, 207-513-3729

ANSWER: Sun Spots emailed David to thank him for clarifying the issue, as the original question had left her scratching her head.

She also noted that the original request asked about getting the vouchers via U.S. mail. David said that is indeed possible:

“Send a request to SeniorsPlus, 8 Falcon Road, Lewiston, ME 04240. They should state how many vouchers they want and then write a check for $5 for each voucher they order. Also, they should give a return address, and we will mail the voucher(s) back to them.”

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Six years ago I was looking for a certain yearbook but had no luck. On the memory marker bookmark, Jostens American Yearbook Co. is named as the publishing company.

I was wondering if that company still exists. Today’s high schools must have someone to publish their yearbooks. I was wondering if it’s the same company. — C.G., Lewiston

ANSWER: Jostens is indeed still in business and provide many things beyond yearbooks (class rings, caps and gowns, etc.) You can call them at 877-767-5217 or visit jostens.com.

Sun Spots doesn’t know if local schools still use Jostens, but it’s possible.

As for your missing yearbook, Sun Spots would be surprised if Jostens keeps extras to sell, but you can try. You might have better luck calling the school or asking Sun Spots’ readers.
