FARMINGTON — Police said a local man is charged with terrorizing after he tried to settle a bar fight involving his son.
Robert S. Danforth, 48, was carrying a knife when he was arrested early Saturday morning at a Front Street bar, Farmington police secretary Bonnie Pomeroy read from Sgt. Edward Hastings IV’s report.
According to the report, Danforth’s adult son came to his father’s home to report an assault. The son had bleeding knuckles from punching a sign, Pomeroy said.
Danforth called Franklin County dispatchers to have an officer come to his home within a certain time or he would take care of the situation, she said. Officers went to the tavern, met Danforth, found a knife on him and arrested him, she said.
Danforth remained at the Franklin County Detention Center on Monday evening on $1,000 cash bail or a pre-trial contract. There is also a probation hold on him, the officer said.
