The L. A. & W., represented by Gen. Supt. Bowie, is going to give Lewiston and Auburn a Fourth of July celebration which will be worth looking at and which will bring the events of that day to an illuminating and gorgeous close. At Lake Grove that night will be one of the finest displays of fireworks ever seen in these cities. The display will be so arranged that, while there will be no difficulty for all at the lake to witness the show, it will be a practicable impossibility for any one to receive an injury as a result of the fireworks. Arrangements are being made by Mr. Bowie for a splendid extra car service for the accommodation of Lewiston and Auburn people who desire to visit the Lake that night and see the entertainment.

Like any good manager who plans ahead, Lewiston City Administrator Lucien Gosselin had little to do Friday, his last day as the city’s top executive. Gosselin had no regrets about his last day with the city of Lewiston, where he has spent the last 26 years of his working life. On Monday, Gosselin begins a job as an executive vice president of Sisters of Charity Health Systems, the company that owns St. Mary’s Hospital. Staff and elected officials gathered at 3 p.m. to give a city hall reception.
