1946 – 2014

LEWISTON — Edward S. Crowell Jr., 67, of Lewiston, died Monday, July 14, at his home following a short illness, with his family by his side.

Born in Bangor on Nov. 5, 1946, he was a son of the late Edward S. and Edna (Wildes) Crowell. On Nov. 22, 1969, he married the former Patricia Dutil, who survives him of Lewiston.

He was a self-employed carpenter for most of his life. He had been employed at Sullivan Property Management for the past 17 years.

Edward was an avid golfing enthusiast at Prospect Hill Golf Course. He also enjoyed gardening and especially loved being with his grandchildren and family. For many years, he wintered in Florida at Cocoa Beach.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jason Crowell and Corey Crowell and his wife, Shari, all of Lewiston; four sisters, Catherine Parent of Lewiston, Caroline Karkos of Lewiston, Ethel and her husband, Dana Brooks, of Auburn and Geraldine and her husband, Richard Zaccardi, of Minnesota; seven brothers, Paul Crowell of Lewiston, Richard Crowell and his wife, Audrey, of Auburn, Everett Crowell and his wife, Evalyn, of Florida, Wilbur Crowell of Auburn, Phillip Crowell and his wife, Joan, of Poland, Jess Crowell and his wife, Dena, of New Gloucester and Kenneth Crowell of Auburn; three sisters-in-law, Florence Crowell of China, Carol Crowell of Minnesota and Jean Crowell of Lewiston; one brother-in-law, Arthur Bourget, of Monmouth; two in-laws on Patricia’s side of the family, which include Robert and Mary Dutil of Florida and Gerry and Sandra Denis of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Madison Rush, Aura Crowell, Adrian Crowell and two-month-old Spencer Crowell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one sister, Florence Bourget; and three brothers, Stanley, Charles and Joseph Crowell.
