ANDOVER — Ellis River Riders recently held their first two show weekends. Organizers have been very pleased with the volume of riders showing with the club.
“It’s great to see an influx in leadline and walk trot riders for both open and gymkhana shows,” said one club representative.
Ellis River Riders is a training-type club dedicated to the education, skill advancement and confidence building of all riders. It offers classes for all ages and further divided by skill level.
Its recent shows have proven it to be a fun, encouraging and friendly group which welcomes new members and riders at any time during the season.
Several riders use the club to further the training level of their green or new horse, while others come to practice and advance their own riding skills.

Shows are free to spectators. A food booth is available for all club shows. Classes start at $5.
Upcoming events include July 19-20 gymkhana shows, Aug. 2 gymkhana under the lights starting at 3 p.m., Aug. 3 pleasure/equitation/English/Western starting at 9 a.m. with judge Terry Adkins.
The website has full event listings, including shows and trail rides, benefit events for Angel Flight of NE (a murder mystery trail ride on Sept. 20), St. Jude’s trail ride, and a versatility clinic and challenge on Oct. 18 to benefit The Fight for Air, Boston Stair Climb, American Lung Association.
