ST. ALBANS — The National Weather Service says a tornado touched down earlier this week in Somerset County.

Meteorologist John Jensenius, who surveyed the damage on Thursday, tells WMTW-TV  that the town experienced an EF1 tornado with winds of 80 to 90 miles per hour.

Crews have been cleaning up the mess since the severe weather rolled through Maine on Tuesday. The tornado brought down trees and power lines, knocking out power and blocking roads. No one was injured during the storm.
