LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, July 17, for Jacqueline M. Vaillancourt at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, following prayers at The Fortin Group Funeral Home.

The principal celebrant was the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt, son of Jacqueline, assisted by the Rev. Marc Caron and the Rev. Daniel Greenleaf. The pall was placed on the casket by Irene Roy, Arlene Bilodeau, Diane Vaillancourt Tarr and Amy, Beth and Nicole Roy, and a cross, prayer book and Rosary beads were placed on the pall by Shannon, Joshua and Elise Roy. The first reading was presented Robert Gilbert and the second reading by Diane Vaillancourt Tarr. The prayer of the faithful was read by Judy Eberson. The gifts were presented at the altar by Henry Gilbert and Larry Roy. The Most Rev. Robert Deeley, Bishop of Portland, as well as a delegation of priests from throughout the diocese of Portland, were in attendance.

Pallbearers were Greg Vaillancourt, Steve, Eric, Larry and Joshua Roy, Clyde Tarr, Ron Bilodeau, Tom Jarvis, Chris Poulin and Bernie Labree. Committal prayers were held at St. Peter’s Cemetery with the Rev. Vaillancourt officiating.
