1917 – 2014
CONCORD, N.H. — Roger L. Verville, 97, died peacefully Thursday, July 24, at the Hospice House in Concord, N.H., after a short illness.
Born on May 26, 1917, in Lewiston, Roger worked at the Hillsboro Club in Pompano Beach, Fla., in the winters and the Black Point Inn, Scarborough, in the summers.
He was married to Florence A (Gagnon) Verville, his wife and constant companion for 68 years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending his summers with friends and family at Small Point. He stayed mainly in the background, ensuring everyone had something to eat and drink and just making things happen. Wintering in Florida, he played shuffleboard, visited and helped neighbors, took daily walks and enjoyed the outdoors.
Roger is survived by his daughter, Jeannette V. Blanchette; his grandchildren, Michelle McKinnon and John Blanchette; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kaitlyn McKinnon.
