WILTON — The third in a series of agriculturally-related workshops will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Wilson Grange No. 321 on Main Street in East Wilton.

The event is free and open to anyone from the public interested in preserving food.

This week’s topics will be drying summer fruits and vegetables, presented by nutritionist Eileen Liddy, and stretching the food dollar in a time of continuing increased prices, presented by Desiree Atwood.

Liddy and other Grange members will share information and their experiences with dehydrating food and will have examples of food dehydrators and some examples of dehydrated foods to try.

Because of the higher costs of food, the second part of the program will review many ways to stretch food dollars.

The money-saving presentations will be followed by coffee and desserts.
