There will be a full field of legislative candidates on local ballots when general elections are held in November.
After the June primary, three area candidates, all Republican, withdrew their names from the ballot – Wanda Lincoln, of Old Town, in Senate District 5; Ed Youngblood, of Brewer, in Senate District 8; and Robert Bulay, of Old Town, in House District 122.
The deadline for filing intentions to fill the slots and run in November was last Monday, and by that time, two replacement candidates had announced – Kim Rosen, of Bucksport, for Senate District 8, and John Nuttall, of Old Town, in House District 122. The one remaining vacant slot was filled last week by Mitchell McLaughlin, of Old Town, who will run in Senate District 5.
