At 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, “Music for Mavis” will host a Tuesdays at the Gazebo concert featuring the toe-tapping, sizzling sounds of

(TEE-ah-kah-DEE), a folk trio from Maine. Band members are Pam Weeks on fiddle, mountain dulcimer, guitar, singing; Jim Joseph on button accordion, 5-string banjo, mandolin, fiddle, jaw harp, percussion, feet, singing; and Bill Olson on guitar, bass, singing. They play a variety of music including traditional French Canadian and New England dance tunes; Cajun waltzes, two steps, Cajun blues and zydeco tunes; old-time southern tunes and songs sung a capella in three-part harmony. The gazebo is on Rt. 117, in Turner Center. In case of rain the concert will be held in the Library. Suggested donations $5 per person. Bring something to sit on.
