Season outlook: It has been a trying offseason, first with the departure of longtime coach Joel Stoneton because of his promotion to athletic director, followed by the sudden death of Winthrop athlete and Stoneton’s daughter, Kelsey, due to a medical condition. St. Hilaire, the former varsity hockey and youth football coach, provides stability and a familiar face in the community. He has installed the Wing-T to take advantage of the Ramblers’ smaller, quicker line and young quarterback Ingram’s mobility. Meucci, Phinney and Carter are potential playmakers. Most of the surrounding faces are new, but the talent and depth remain in place to keep the cooperative program among the leaders in Class D West.
