RUMFORD — Rasmus Soegaard scored a pair of goals to lead Mountain Valley to a 4-3 victory over Monmouth in boys’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons (1-0) responded to a 2-1 deficit at the midpoint with three second half goals. Tucker Rowland provided two assists, while Gustave Davenas and Felix Promm notched a goal each.
Goalie Kasey Smith made 12 saves for the Mustangs.
Yarmouth 7, Poland 0
POLAND — Seven different goal scorers were led by Patrick Grant and Connor Lainey as Yarmouth secured a 7-0 resounding victory over Poland in boys’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.
Grant recorded a goal and two assists, while Lainey made a direct kick from 20 yards out for the first tally of the contest and added an assist in the second half for the Clippers.
Goalies Zack Lowe and Trevor Saunders collected seven and 10 saves, respectively, for the Knights. Goalie Alex Lyon earned the win in net for Yarmouth with a single save.
Mt. Abram 3, Wiscasset 0
SALEM — Junior midfielder Luke Romanoski scored a pair of goals in the first half as Mt. Abram raced to a 3-0 victory over Wiscasset in boys’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.
The Roadrunners (1-0) outpaced the Wolverines (0-1) on offense, providing the speed to keep them off balance.
Goalie Conlon Ranta made seven saves for Wiscaset, while Tristen Dyer repelled eight to earn the win in net for Mt. Abram.
Hall-Dale 3, St. Dom’s 0
AUBURN — Nat Crocker scored two goals and Jake Young added one, leading Hall-Dale to a 3-0 victory over St. Dom’s in a boys’ basketball game Saturday.
Ryan Fitzgerald, Ryan Sinclair and Eli Smith each picked assists for the Bulldogs.

BREWER — Five different Brewer players scored to overpower Lewiston in a 5-1 tilt in girls’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.
Heather Kendall scored the lone Blue Devil’s (0-1) goal in the contest.
Goalies Kelsey St.Cyr and Liz Cormier turned back five and one shot, respectively, for Lewiston. Goalie Makayla Henderson made seven saves for Brewer in the winning effort.
Dirigo 4, Telstar 0
DIXFIELD — Senior captain Megan Bradbury controlled the middle third of the field, leading to several quality scoring opportunities as Dirigo cruised to a 4-0 blanking of Telstar in girls’ soccer action Saturday afternoon.
Ellie Jasper contributed a goal and an assist as did Summer Keim and Sabrina Daoud for the Cougars.
Goalie Tehya Johnson made 17 saves for the Rebels, while Mariah LaFleur prevented five to earn the win in net for Dirigo.

Spruce Mountain 3, Camden Hills 1
CAMDEN — Patty Ryan and Alexis Bessey scored a goal and an assist each to lead Spruce Mountain to a 3-1 victory over Camden Hills in field hockey action Saturday afternoon.
The Phoenix (1-0) notched a pair of goals before the half, and matched the Windjammers (0-1) goal for goal in the second frame.
Galie Desi Dadd made six saves for Camden Hills, while Grace Ryan stopped seven to earn the win in net for Spruce Mountain.
Dirigo 2, St. Dom’s 2
AUBURN — St. Dom’s rebounded from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game, but after two overtimes, Dirigo and the Saints had to settle for a 2-2 tie in a field hockey game Saturday.
Ellen Wainwright and Lauren Hendersen gave the Cougars (0-1-1-) a 2-0 lead before Olivia Chase and Calli Samson tied the game in the second half. Elizabeth Perkins and Chase also picked up assists for the Saints (0-1-1).
The game went double overtime, but St. Dom’s goalie Taylor Bergeron (18 saves) and Dirigo netminder Morgan Morrow (23 saves) wouldn’t let the ball get by them.
Oxford Hills 2, Hampden 0
PARIS — Abby Angevine scored a goal in each half and goalie Shannon Fillebrown kept Hampden Academy out of the net as undefeated Oxford Hills collected a 2-0 victory in a field hockey Saturday.
Sydney Jackson and Erin Morton picked up assists on the goals.
Fillebrown made four saves.
Oxford Hills outshot Hampden, 13-4.
Lawrence 6, Lewiston 2
FAIRFIELD — Domi Lewis scored three goals and Hallee Parlin scored one as Lawrence discarded Lewiston with a 6-2 victory in a field hockey game Saturday.
Ashlyn Belanger scored both goals for the Blue Devils (0-2).

Tufts 4, Bates 0
SOMERVILLE, Mass. — Sophomore goalkeeper Sam Polito made a career-high 12 saves, but Bates College men’s soccer team fell to Tufts University, 4-0, at Kraft Field Saturday afternoon.
In the NESCAC opener for both teams, Connor Brown scored twice for the Jumbos (2-0) in the 7th and 46th minutes, while Sam Williams and Dexter Eichhorst each added a goal in the 55th and 85th minutes.
Wesleyan 2, Bowdoin 1
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Chris Kafina tallied a late goal to push Wesleyan to a 2-1 victory over Bates in men’s soccer action Saturday afernoon.
Just 7:04 into the second half, Sam White picked up a setup from Daniel Melong and Andrew Jones to knot up the score at 1-1 for the Polar Bears.

Tufts 6, Bates 0
MEDFORD, Mass. — Sophomore Brooke Fortin scored twice as Tufts University stomped to a 6-0 victory over Bates College in NESCAC women’s soccer action Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats had periods of controlling play in the first 45 minutes. Twenty-five minutes into the game they earned three corners in a two-minute span.
Bates’ best chance came when sophomore Hannah Graves drilled a shot, but Jumbo sophomore keeper Eileen McGarry made a leaping save.
Field hockey
Tufts 4, Bates 0
MEDFORD, Mass. — Sophomore Dominque Zarrella posted the first goal of the game for the Jumbos as Tufts University tamped down a 4-0 victory over Bates in field hockey action Saturday afternoon.
The Jumbos held the shot advantage steadily throughout the game, finishing with 29 shtos to Bates’ three.
Junior Christina Vega and Kaite Knox shared cage duties for Bates in the losing effort.
