NORWAY — It’s a 90-minute commute to work, but Coryl Coffin, owner of the Play & Grow resale shop at 446 Main St., said the drive from her home in East Waterboro is worth every mile.

“They’re really supporting me,” Coffin said of Norway Downtown and others in the community who have welcomed the new business owner to town.

Coffin, who opened the resale shop under the same name as the previous owner, said she found the shop for sale online and was attracted by the look of the downtown and later by the welcoming attitude of its business owners and customers and particularly the members of Norway Downtown.

“I just love downtown Norway. It has that small-town feel,” said Coffin, who recalled traveling through the town as a child while camping with her family.

Norway Downtown is a nonprofit organization that leads the effort to revitalize Norway’s historic Main Street in collaboration with residents, businesses and organizations.

While her resale shop in Sanford thrives, she said there is something special about downtown Norway and she believes that specialness will lead to success.

The shop’s grand opening is Saturday, Sept. 13. The store hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Clothing, which may be taken on consignment, includes infant, toddler and youth sizes.

Coffin can be reached at 207-956-1905 or on the store’s Facebook page at Play&Grow.
