DALLAS PLANTATION — A New York woman tried to drive slowly around a moose standing in Loon Lake Road early Thursday morning, but the moose wanted no part of it and rammed her car.
The moose walked off into the woods. The driver of the 2012 Toyota Highlander, Rita Tempel, 59, of Bellport, N.Y., was uninjured, Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said in a release.
However, the side of car received reportable damage.
Cpl. Nate Reid responded to the accident reported at 1:30 a.m.
Tempel told Reid that she saw the moose in the road ahead of her, and it did not move away, Nichols said.
