ORRINGTON (AP) — A Brewer woman injured in a hit-and-run crash in Orrington earlier this month has died, and authorities are looking into whether the other driver should be charged.
Police say 59-year-old Robin Rie died late last week after getting injured in a crash Sept. 13.
Sheriff’s deputies say Rie was on Route 15 when she slowed down to make a left turn and another vehicle struck her from behind. The impact sent Rie’s car crashing into a nearby house.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 29-year-old Bucksport man, stopped momentarily before leaving the scene. He was tracked down later.
The Penobscot district attorney’s office is reviewing the case.
