KINGFIELD — Velma Evans, a clinical social worker, will be joining Mt. Abram Regional Health Center and Rangeley Family Medicine. Evans will be working closely with the medical providers to offer behavioral health services to patients of the practices.
Evans obtained her master of social work degree from Boston College Graduate School of Social Work in Massachusetts in 2003. She previously graduated from University of Maine at Farmington, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She brings experience with adults, couples, families and children in outpatient and home settings. Her areas of expertise include good sleep hygiene practices, anxiety reduction skill building and substance abuse issues.
In Mt. Abram Regional Health Center, Evans will join family nurse practitioners Shannon Munro and Christie King. The health center provides a full range of primary care and preventive services to children, adolescents and adults from Carrabassett Valley, Coplin and Dallas Plantations, Eustis, Kingfield, New Portland, Stratton and surrounding towns.
Rangeley Family Medicine serves people from Dallas and Lincoln Plantations, Madrid, Magalloway, Rangeley, Sandy River and other adjacent locations.
