AUBURN — Firefighters made quick work of a fire in an attic Wednesday night in a two-story home on Shepley Street.
Firefighters were sent to 80 Shepley St. at about 9:30 p.m. after hearing reports of smoke pouring out of the top of the house. Auburn fire crews called for assistance from Lewiston firefighters, but within minutes, the blaze was under control. Nobody was hurt.
Later Wednesday night, fire officials remained at the scene, mopping up and investigating the cause. The home is near the corner of Highland Avenue.
