AUBURN — Austin Associates P.A. announced that two of its CPAs, Claire Thompson CPA CVA, and Crystal Marchessault CPA MSA, recently attended a Thomson Reuters seminar in Washington, D.C.
The two-day seminar was a training program that focused on OMB Circular A-133 audits. The courses focused on the key responsibilities of the auditor, best practices, as well as recently issued and effective authoritative pronouncements affecting governmental and nonprofit entities. Austin Associates provides audit services to a number of nonprofit organizations, including several organizations that are required to undergo OMB Circular A-133 audits because of their levels of federal funding.
Thompson has been with the firm since 1982. She has been a certified public accountant since 1982. She oversees the firm’s auditing department, as well as providing business and tax services to a variety of clients.
Marchessault has been in public accounting since 2006 and with Austin Associates since 2009.
