WILTON — Prior to the election, House District 114’s Rep. Russell Black, R-Wilton, said he hopes to serve on several committees when the 127th Maine Legislature convenes Dec. 3.
“After serving two terms in the Maine House, I know what it will take to get the job done,” he previously said.
Attempts to reach Black for this story were unsuccessful.
The farmer and logger previously said he was interested in committee assignments for agriculture, conservation, forestry and inland fisheries and wildlife.
Black said he knows first-hand the needs and hardships of his constituents. He has lived in the district all his life and served his community for over 30 years, he said in a pre-election questionnaire.
Black is a former selectperson and is a director of the Wilton Lions and the Wilton Free Public Library, Franklin County Farm Bureau and Farmington Farmers Union. He is a trustee of East Wilton Union Church, member of Wilton Fish and Game, Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine, Sportsman Alliance of Maine, NRA and Maine Maple Syrup Producers Association.
