“Hands up … don’t shoot,” “I can’t breathe” — those phrases have been all over the news lately. There have been all kinds of protests and riots.

I think the media are mostly to blame for much of the unrest. It is OK to report a story, I have no problem with that. But the media keep harping on the riots and unrest, day after day, week after week. I think that helps fan the flames even more.

All the media outlets seem to care about is their stupid ratings. What they don’t seem to care about is that people are sick of seeing the same thing being played over and over again.

Media also seem to show only one side of the story. That’s what I see every day. I never see both sides of a story anymore. When I was younger, the news media would at least try to get all the facts out there.

I am just trying to figure out what is going on, so why do the news outlets keep bombarding the public with all the bad news?

How about some good news once in a while — show people helping people?

At this time of year, especially, it would be nice to try to show more kindness, more love.
