WELD – Nomination papers for municipal positions will be available Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Town Office, Town Clerk Carol Cochran said Tuesday.
The papers are due back to the office by Jan. 26, 2015. The annual town meeting will be held at 10 a.m. March 7, 2015, at the Town Hall. Elections are held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 6, at the Town Office.
A three-year term for selectman, assessor and overseer of the poor is up for election. Tom Skolfield holds the position.
The road commissioner’s position for a three-year term is also available. Kelly Hutchinson holds that post.
There is also a five-year term on the Planning Board up for election. Gordeen Skolfield is not running for re-election, Cochran said.
In another town matter, the Town Office will be closed Thursday, Dec. 18, because of a year-end budget workshop in Bangor.
