READFIELD — An annual benefit Alpine ski race in celebration of Marlee Johnston will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, at the O’Connor Alpine Ski Training Center at Kents Hill School. All proceeds will benefit the ski club.
Pre-registration is required; entry fee is $15 per racer, which includes a commemorative T-shirt. Registration will be open from 8 to 10 a.m. on race day; race will start at 10 a.m.
The format will be a slalom race with two timed runs for each race. Race categories will be middle school skiers in grades 6-8, and high school skiers in grades 9-12.
Concessions will be sold, including hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage bombs, chili, drinks and desserts. Proceeds will benefit the Marlee Fund.
Individual and team awards, along with bib prizes, will be given.
