Oxford Hills 58, Mt. Ararat 51

PARIS — After the contest was tied at 29-29 at halftime, Oxford Hills used a 15-10 run in the third frame to take control and went on to post a 58-51 victory over Mt. Ararat in KVAC boys’ basketball action Saturday. 

Tyus Ripley led the Vikings (1-1) with 24 points, while Andrew Fleming contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds. 

Shy Ulrickson paced the Eagles (1-2) with a game-high 30 points, while Nathan Griffin chipped in 15. 

Seacoast Christian 55, Buckfield 28

SOUTH BERWICK — Stu Archer and Ian LaCroix poured 16 points apiece into the net Saturday to propel Seacoast Christian to a 55-28 romp over Buckfield in Class D boys’ basketball action. 

Tom Eaton also contributed for Seacoast Christian (2-1) with 12 points. Jared Eastman paced the Bucks (0-2) with seven points, while Jake Kraske chipped in five. 

Hall-Dale 68, Mt. Abram 42

FARMINGDALE — Bryson Camp threw in 25 points and Brian Allen added 15 as Hall-Dale topped Mt. Abram, 68-42, in an MVC boys’ basketball game Saturday.

The Bulldogs (3-1) jumped out to a 32-20 lead at halftime. For the Roadrunners, Quinton Hanna scored 14 points, Luke Romanoski had 11 and Tristen Dyer dropped in 10.

Rangeley 72, North Haven 56

NORTH HAVEN — Timmy White scored 21 points, Orrin Mitchell had 15 and Kyle Larochelle helped out with 14 as Rangeley took down North Haven, 72-56, in a boys’ basketball game Saturday.

The Lakers led 32-29 before erupting with 26 points in the fourth quarter. Wyatt Dellavalle scored 10 points for Rangeley. For North Haven, Aidan Emerson was the leading scorer with 26 points.

Boys’ hockey

Poland/GNG/Oak Hill 5, Marshwood/Traip 4 (OT)

AUBURN — Ethan Cailler fired a shot into the net at the 6:01 mark of overtime Saturday to give Poland/Gray-New Gloucester/Oak Hill a 5-4 win over Marshwood/Traip in a boys’ hockey tilt Saturday. 

Bailey Drouin opened the scoring for the 26ers in the first period with assists from Riley Lavoie and Cailler. Marshwood/Traip answered nine minutes later when Joe Spinney tallied an unassisted goal.

Ryan Lavoie put Poland/GNG/Oak Hill up by one early in the second, the only tally in that period. Isaiah Dubois scored on a power play for Poland early in the third stanza, while Nick Barrett answered for Marshwood/Traip. 

Troy Stevens and Spinney each tallied again in the third before Jason Cote sent the game into overtime with his goal at 13:39. Nick Hemond made 29 saves between the pipes for the 26ers, while Alex Weeks deflected 13 of 18 shots he faced for Marshwood/Traip. 

Greely 3, Leavitt 0

FALMOUTH — Greely scored three times in the second period to defeat Leavitt 3-0 in Western Class B boys’ hockey action.
Ryan Megathlin started the scoring 2:36 into the period. Nick Caputo assisted on the next two goals. Nathan Gervais scored into 7:07 into the stanza while Andrew Ray scored with 3:22 remaining in the period.

Girls’ basketball

Buckfield 25, Seacoast Christian 23

ELIOT — Brianna Damon and Kerseyanne Goyette each had six points to help propel Buckfield over Seacoast Christian Saturday in girls’ Class D basketball action.

The win improved the Bucks to 2-0 on the young season. Seacoast Christian (1-3) made a late run in the fourth quarter, as they outscored Buckfield 11-5. Kylene DeSmith had seven points to lead all scorers, while Kristin Wittner and Ali Morin had six points.

Rangeley 70, North Haven 4

NORTH HAVEN — Seve Deery-DeRaps scored 19 points as Rangeley overwhelmed North Haven with a 70-4 victory in a girls’ basketball game Saturday.

By halftime, the Lakers (3-0) led 36-2. Rangeley shutout North Haven in the first and final quarters.
