1921 – 2014

LEWISTON — Theresa G. Arsenault, 93, formerly of Kimball Ave. in Mexico, passed away on Saturday. Dec. 13, at Montello Manor in Lewiston, following a long illness.

She was born in St. Samuel Province of Quebec on May 2, 1921, one of 17 children, to Joseph and Marie (Cote) Begin. Theresa attended schools in Lewiston.

She was employed at Bath Iron Works for a few years. She then went into waitressing and was employed at Freddie’s for many years. Theresa later went to work for Dan’s Pizza Shop and eventually bought the business, and ended her working career at the Rumford Shoe Shop.

She was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Mexico.

Theresa loved gardening and spending time at the family camp at Roxbury Pond with family and friends sitting on the porch watching the sunsets. Theresa’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren.

The family would like to offer a heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Montello Common and Manor for the wonderful care given to Theresa.

Surviving are her son, Raymond Gagne of Bath; her daughter, Louise Richard and husband, Robert, of Dixfield; a sister, Rolande Begin of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Kevin Buotte, Kim Buotte Gautreau and Robert Richard Jr. and wife, Barbara; one great-grandson, Ethan Gautreau; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Ovide Gagne; her second husband, Rene J. Arsenault; seven sisters; eight brothers; a grandson Adam Richard; and a great-grandson, Nathaniel Richard.
