AUBURN — Margaret Lada passed away peacefully on Nov. 25 at the Odd Fellows’ and Rebekahs’ Home of Maine, where she had resided for the past 15 years. She was 89 years young.

Margaret married the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” Lada, in 1945; they were married for 23 years when he passed away in 1968. Margaret and Charles had one child, Charles Lada. Margaret spoke of them often. She often talked of summer camping trips to Maine.

She lived most of her adult life in Willimantic, Conn., and worked as a housekeeper at the University of Connecticut. She often dreamed about returning to her home state of Connecticut.

Margaret spent her days watching Catholic Mass on television and reading romance novels. Margaret loved lipstick, lilacs and singing in the shower.

The staff at the Odd Fellows’ Home were honored to care for Margaret and the residents will miss her greatly. We will miss the twinkle in her eye and her sense of humor.
