LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens will meet at noon Monday, Jan. 5, for their monthly meeting.

A Kentucky Fried Chicken luncheon will cost $4.

The group met on Dec. 1 at the Lewiston Memorial Armory.

During the months of October and November members brought in food items or donated money to help families with a Thanksgiving basket.

They were able to help four families with a Thanksgiving meal and food for a week. The baskets were dropped off at the Lewiston General Assistance office and distributed from there.

Members are now bringing in unwrapped toys, hats and mittens which will be given to Safe Voices for the holidays.

After the general meeting, Roger Bouffard lead the members in Christmas carols in both French and English.

Refreshments followed including a cake for the December birthdays.

On Dec. 5 members met at CJ Hall for their annual Christmas party.

Members enjoyed a wonderful Christmas dinner and entertainment by the Gerry Dube Trio.

Santa made a surprise visit.
