1947 – 2014
WILTON — Joanne “Sam” Goudreau, 67, a resident of Wilton, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 20, at her home.
She was born in Lewiston on June 1, 1947, the daughter of Irving Groves and Dorothy (Brown) Groves. She graduated from Poland High School.
Sam used to DJ in the Lewiston area, was owner-operator of the Corner Pocket Lounge and Bar in Livermore Falls and also worked in cleaning through the years.
She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, but especially liked sewing; she made amazing quilts, bags and dolls. Sam made girl-size dolls that resembled her grandchildren for them as gifts. Above all else, Sam loved her grandchildren and spending time with and caring for them.
She is survived by her children, Katherine, Samantha, Patrick and Jay; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her parents.
