LEWISTON — The wedding of Katie Lauze and Jonathan Anctil was held on Oct. 4 at the Peter J. Gomes Chapel at Bates College. James R. Handy, notary public, officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Peter and Elissa Lauze of Lewiston. The bridegroom is the son of Roland and Arlene Anctil of Lewiston.

Alexis R.D. Handy, friend of the couple, was maid of honor and Tammy M. Allard, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Amelia Newell, daughter of friends Ryan and Catherine Newell, was flower girl.

Joseph Anctil served as best man for his brother and usher was Zeus Pendon.

A reception followed at the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston, after which the couple traveled to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. They are residing in Lewiston.

The bride graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in public management from the University of Maine in 2009. She is currently at Idexx Laboratories in Westbrook.

The bridegroom served four years in the U.S. Air Force and is currently a full-time student in the electromechanical technology program at Central Maine Community College in Auburn.
