DIXFIELD — The first of three public forums on future use of Regional School Unit 10’s school buildings was canceled Wednesday night because of Tuesday’s snowstorm.
Superintendent Craig King said the forum, which had been scheduled at Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, will be rescheduled to either just before or just after February vacation. The public will be notified of the new date when it is determined.
The two other forums will be held as scheduled. They are at 6:30 p.m. Monday Feb. 2, at Dirigo High School in Dixfield, and at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Buckfield Junior-Senior High School.
The RSU 10 board likely will take the information and preferences gathered to decide which, if any, school buildings will be closed or restructured with different grade configurations.
With school canceled Tuesday and Wednesday, the district has used three of the five snow days in this year’s schedule. If more than five are used, additional class days will be added at the end of the school year.
