FARMINGTON — A Wilton man being booked on a drunken-driving charge is accused of head-butting a corrections officer and giving him a black eye, Franklin County Lt. David Rackliffe said Wednesday.
Franklin County Jail Sgt. Walter Fails arrested Nicholas Didonna, 31, on Tuesday on a felony charge of assault on an officer, Rackliffe said.
Didonna denied the charge, according to an email sent to the Sun Journal.
Didonna was arrested on the operating under the influence charge Jan. 30. He was released on $3,000 unsecured bail.
Fails called Didonna back to the jail after his release to interview him about the assault and he was arrested, Rackliffe said.
Didonna was released on $1,000 cash bail Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear in a Farmington court March 3.
